Red/Black, or Color Bets

Roulette red and black

Pays out: 1-1 (even money), with a 48.65% chance of winning

Black numbers: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29, 31, 33, 35

Red numbers: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 18, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 30, 32, 34, 36

Lowdown: Color bets are popular in roulette betting because of the higher likelihood of winning compared to other types of web wagers.

Color bets are one of three types of Internet roulette wagers that pay out 1-1, and along with Even/Odd bets and High/Low bets are the most likely bets for roulette to result in winnings.

Example: If you make online roulette bets of $10 on red, and the outcome is one of the red numbers, you win your initial $10 back plus an additional $10. You can see these are the best numbers to play in roulette.

Even/Odd Bets

Pays out: 1-1, with a 48.65% chance of winning

Lowdown: Identical to the colors wager, except that Even/Odd bet spaces are on a different part of the online roulette betting surface.

Low & High Bets

Low / high bets

Pays out: 1-1, with a 48.65% chance of winning

Low numbers: 1-18

High numbers: 19-36

Lowdown: Low and High bets split the roulette betting surface in half. You can bet on the numbers 1-18 or 19-36. If you bet on 18 or below it is traditionally called a low bet. Wagers on 19 and above are called high bets for roulette.

Dozen Bets

Pays out: 2-1, with a roulette odds payout chance of 32.43%

Lowdown: The dozen bets for roulette give you three different sections of 12 numbers to wager on. Dozen bets for roulette are riskier online roulette bets than the earlier wagers mentioned, but they pay out at a higher rate, 2-1 in this case.

Column Bets

Column bets

Pays out: 2-1, with a 32.43% chance of winning

1st Column: 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28, 31, 34

2nd Column: 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23, 26, 29, 32, 35

3rd Column: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36

Lowdown: Column online roulette bets are similar to dozens bets except that they break the roulette wheel layout up into three sections length-wise rather than the sideways sections covered by dozens wagers.

6-Number Bets, or 'Six Line Bets' and 'Double Street Bets'

Pays out: 5-1, with a 16.22% chance of winning

Lowdown: Six-numbers bets for roulette are not available at every gaming casino, so check the table rules. This wager requires a single bet on six numbers at a time; any six numbers between two adjacent rows.

5-Number Bets, or 'Top Line Bets' and 'Basket Bets'

5 number bets

Pays out: 6-1, with a 13.16% chance of winning.

Lowdown: This gambling bet can only be placed on American Roulette tables that contain the green double zero (00) space.

The numbers involved in this bet are 0, 00, 1, 2, and 3. The 5-numbers bet is the worst wager in the game. This bet increases the house edge at American style games all the way up to 7.89%, more than 2% higher than all other bets.

4-Number Bets, or 'Corner Bets' and 'Square Bets'

Pays out: 8-1, with a 10.81% chance of winning.

Lowdown: Square bets are wagers placed on four numbers that are joined at the corners. An 8-1 payout comes at the risk of just 10% chance of winning.

3-Number Bets, or 'Street Bets' and 'Line Bets'

3 number bets

Pays out: 11-1, with an 8.11% chance of winning.

Lowdown: This is similar to the 6-numbers bet, except this wager is placed on the edge of any row of numbers.

2-Number Bets, or 'Split Bets'

Pays out: 17-1, with a 5.41% chance of winning.

Lowdown: Along with the single number bets, 2-number, or split, bets provide the longest odds on the roulette wheel layout. Split bets let you bet one wager on two different numbers, as long as those numbers are next to each other. The payout of 17-1 is the second largest payout you can earn playing roulette.

Single Number Bets, or 'Straight Bets'

1 number bets

Pays out: 35-1.

Lowdown: This is the most profitable bet, paying off at 35-1, though it has only a 2.7% chance of winning on the American Roulette board. The single number offers the largest possibly payout for roulette betting but really long odds. To place this bet, simply stack your chips on any one number on the betting table, cross your fingers, and let it ride.
